how our eye moves and what are the actions of muscles of eye.

there are 6 muscles, four recti and two obliques. the action of these musles are;


  Superior Rectus

    -Elevation of abduted eye (primary action)

    -Intorsion 

    -Helps in adduction

Inferior Rectus

    -Depression of abduted eye (primary action)

    -Extortion 

    -Helps in adduction

medial rectus

    -moves eyeball towards nose (medially)

lateral rectus

    -moves eyeball against nose (laterally) 

Superior Oblique

    -Depression of adducted eye (primary action)

    -Intorsion of abducted eye

    -Helps in abduction

Inferior Oblique

    -Elevation of adduted eye (primary action)

    -Extortion of abducted eye

    -Helps in abduction
