what is AMBLYOPIA

Amblyopia

•      Is the decreased VA without any visible lesion in the eye.

•      It can only occur within 7years of age and can only be treatable within 7years of age.

•      It never develops after 7years of age but it can be discovered late.

     Types

    1,Stimulation deprivation amblyopia --   develops because of abnormalities in the media eg: cataract, corneal opacity and ptosis

    2,Strbismus amblyopia

    3,Anisometropic amblyopia

    4,Meridional amblyopia--   because of high astigmatism
